Very solid. It can definitely protect the console if you drop it by accident. It has one big pocket for your accessories, 8 little pockets for cartridges and one for the stylus. It even comes with a strap. For this price it couldn't be more convenient.

The case is very good and a great value product.
Buying a similar case in a local store would cost me more twice the value.
The exterior material is Ok, the inside has a lot of space for the 3DS and a couple of games and accessories.
